Tibet will invest 24 million yuan for renewable energy alternatives fuelwood

China's oil network news: - Finance from the Tibet Autonomous Region was informed that in 2008 Tibet will invest 24 million yuan, used in solar energy, methane-generating pit with a focus on building alternative fuel wood construction so that more farmers and herdsmen to use solar energy, Biomass and other renewable energy alternatives in the daily life of a large number of fuelwood energy.
For a long time, Tibet's urban and rural residents, especially farmers and herdsmen living mainly depend on fuel wood and feces of cattle and sheep, in some areas even digging turf, thorns and roots as a living energy.  Fuelwood energy use and reduce the destruction of Tibet's green vegetation, affect the ecological environment.

Tibet Autonomous Region Government is fully committed to the implementation of fuelwood alternative energy development strategy, strive to 10 or so, the entire autonomous region in the development and application of solar energy, biomass, geothermal energy and other clean energy, effective in reducing the people for firewood, grass-roots, and other traditional firewood Energy dependence.
Tibet to explore a "greenhouse + digesters" the development of new agricultural cycle mode.  According to the Office of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Tibetan farmers and herdsmen energy research centres of excellence to statistics, Tibet Solar gas project, annual savings for each household income farmers and herdsmen around 4,000 yuan, an annual saving firewood and coal used about two tons, equivalent to 3,000 square meters Forest .
Up to now, Tibet has built solar digesters more than 9,800 seats, nearly 10,000 households of farmers and the masses use clean, environmentally friendly source of energy.  This year Tibet's GDP reached 34.2 billion yuan, an increase of 13.8 percent, but the million GDP power consumption of about 500 kilowatts, lower than the national average.
